This is my first time of finishing a fiction in English completely. For a guy who only has limited English skill, it is really amazing.
From the beginning, I think Holly will never fall in love with other again. In need, she does. However, in the last part, seems she fall in love with Daniel. I don't know, but I think that after she think deeply, she wanna start the new relationship with a new partner. It is good for Holly, but not a good story for me. At least, out of my expectation.
Honestly, start from the first letter of Gerry, I really think that the last letter (I don't know Gerry only prepared limited letter to till Dec. only, but there must has the "last letter" in the book!) should be about something like "Fall in love again" or "start a new live with a new partner." blah blah blah!!! As a man, it is only the last thing can do for his honey when he can no longer be with her for the rest of life.
Poor Holly!!! One screen is pinned in my mind really. When Holly need to use the Internet for job hunting in the public library. She did not get enough notes to pay for the fee. She cannot think any one that she can get help from but Gerry. She is lonely and helpless. All her best friends are not available that time. She had no call to make. In her mind, only Gerry. At that time , she made a call to Gerry mobile even she absolutely knew that no one will answer her call. Gerry is the only, unique and the whole of her previous life.
When I read this in MTR, my tear is nearly roll down (as a man, in public is not available to cry, even in private area, I wont, I need to pretend strong.). Moreover, I feel the same even I am writing this blog entry. If someone tell me that Holly is stupid what she had no friends and she depend on Gerry too much blah blah blah, I can only defined that guy does not really fall in love before. Even he or she is in relationship, I can definitely say that relationship is conditional and not be a truth love. He or she does not know what is love anyway.
And Dennis and Sharon are the poor characters in this world. I am not talking about they do something bad, but author really created a blessing evil. These two best friend of Holly, one was going to marry with her honey while the other one was pregnant. Not only Holly, everyone is going to be jealous. How about the poor Holly? Just like the single see the pair of sweet on the shopping mall, the girl are laying on the chest of her honey. What I can say about this feeling is sad but nothing else. However, this is what author wanna make. I hate Dennis and Sharon, they hurt my poor Holly. Anyway, author did a great job for her story with these ladies.
This story is really touching. How many men can do as Gerry? How many women can do as Holly? How many couples can do as Holly and Gerry? Love is really amazing, give your care and love to your honey when you can do it. No specific time slot to do it, just do it.
